STEM & ROBOTICS
When you are faced with a challenge, it doesn’t test your abilities in maths and science individually. Rather, it tests your abilities to apply these subjects. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) & Robotics education has become a necessity in the 21st century, as it focuses on problem-solving, teaches children to ask questions and builds curiosity. Children work collaboratively to identify the problem and imagine a solution, plan and prototype the design and test and improve their models.
MUSIC
Music is an essential tool to nurture self-esteem and self-confidence. It provides for sensorial, emotional, intellectual and creative enrichment and contributes to the child’s holistic development. At ASE, music is introduced at the pre-primary level itself and progresses for the student to develop understanding in the following core areas:
- Musical awareness and appreciation
- Musical participation and gaining experience in music
- Understanding the elements of music
- Learning how to play an instrument
ART
Studying art offers numerous benefits that extend beyond the canvas. It fosters self-discovery, helping children explore their identities, emotions and perspectives. The art curriculum at ASE fosters a child’s understanding of details, perspectives, shapes, patterns, colours and textures. The art skills of sketching, colouring and painting are developed as children work through various forms of art: creating portraits, pottery making, block printing, Warli painting, mandala art and origami making.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Physical education contributes significantly to a child’s health and well-being. It provides opportunities for students to learn about teamwork, sportsmanship, cooperation, empathy, perseverance, confidence and how to deal with success and failure. In the early grades, students practise the movement patterns and motor skills required to perform a range of physical activities. Also, students learn the practice of yoga from Nursery class itself to not only build strength, flexibility and balance but also to improve mental health. From the middle grades, students apply these skills to team and individual physical sports.
COMPUTER
Due to the rapid growth of computing and technology worldwide, it is essential for children to learn the skills needed to adapt to these changes. The primary goal of computer education is to develop digital literacy and computational thinking. Our curriculum at ASE highlights concepts such as abstraction, algorithms, programming, data, networks and digital citizenship. Students also learn computer fundamentals and typing.
